NICK MORRIS

Another artist who explores pop art collage is Torquay artist, Nick Morris. His overwhelming juxtapositions of popular imagery highlight the dramatic impact of ‘advertising’, which remains to capture the desire from the general public.

The constant appearance of the motorcycle initiate a reference towards masculinity as well as the ‘Australian’ lifestyle and the oversized images of suggestive women may provide the collages with a sexual appeal.

Nick mentions how ‘advertising’ can be considered as absurd at times and the artist also states how ‘advertising’ has become such a major aspect of daily life, which is often unrecognized by society[1]
.From observing the works of Ben Frost and Nick Morris, as well as analyzing the over exaggerated composition of popular imagery, I then attempted to design a collage of my own[2].
